It's in a food court area now! Think it might have moved. Flavors were really fresh - Boston cream pie and mint chip. Both excellent!
Great place for homemade ice cream. A Ralph's ices and ice cream opened directly across the street from them s few years ago and didn't put a dent in their business. Why? Give Pr need ice cream is fresh and creamy. The owner is a local and active and well liked in the community. Plenty of tables inside to relax and enjoy the menu selections. Cake Batter, Chocolatta and Boston Cream are among my favorite flavors. Share a Giant Waffle cone with a friend. Street parking or municipal parking can be a challenge but great place for dessert after a local restaurant. Sad news... this place will be closing at the end of the year after a 10 year stint. Get in there for a goodbye cone quickly.
I loved this place. The ice cream was creamy and not too sweet. They also have so many varieties and options on how you want the ice cream. They had a nice selection of toppings. There was also so seating available.
Such a cute ice cream shop right in the center of town! This place has been open for such a long time, so it has a very old fashioned feel to it. They also have a lot of great flavors, and it's not expensive compared to some other ice cream shops nearby. I got a sundae with the chips ahoy ice cream, fudge, whipped cream, and a cherry on top. It was delicious!
I can't believe I haven't left a review for my favorite ice cream place in the world, which happens to be very close to me. Five Pennies is such a gem. I've been in a couple of times when the owner is there and he is above and beyond amazing. You can tell how passionate he is about what he does and he is the one who makes all of these delicious creations. He always encourages you to try AS MANY AS POSSIBLE so you can find your favorite, and honestly makes such a great experience. All of the staff I've ever encountered has been fantastic too. Everyone is always kind and seems like they enjoy being there. (Side note but they have not had samples due to covid). The ice cream. Omg. Everything is made fresh from scratch. The texture of the ice cream is smooth, consistent, creamy perfection. There are always a ton of flavors and they rotate them. I haven't had anything bad, but I feel like banana pudding and raspberry chip stand out, and I think they had peach cobbler once that was amazing, but I haven't seen it since. They always have a ton of fillings mixed in, the best texture ever, and the ice cream is not too sweet. I didn't love the vegan ice cream when I tried it, but that's the only one I've ever tried that wasn't top notch. Parking isn't great anywhere in RVC, but you should be fine in the lot behind the shop, unless maybe on a weekend in the summer. Prices are very reasonable for the quality, and they give big portions. Really can't recommend this place highly enough!!
Great homemade ice-cream here and echo other reviewers and loved Five Pennies Creamery! Really delicious and great mouthfeel. Nice sized scoops and they allow two flavors in a small! Love that. I had PB Oreo and Omazing Oreo. Both delicious. I'll definitely be back when I'm in the neighborhood. Excellent icecream. I highly recommend!

Sir Thomas More once said 500 years ago "A penny for your thoughts" If he were here today he would probably also add "Five pennies creamery is delicious!" Well, for starters you're definitely going to need more that 5 pennies to buy ice cream here. Quick side notes due to Covid restrictions: 1. Minimum $5 purchase for credit card use. 2. No sampling of ice cream 3. Mandatory mask covering inside store 4. No indoor dining 5. No more than 6 same groups of people at a time Whimsically decorated and offering soft and hard served ice cream, floats, shakes, sundaes and cakes. The service here is top notch and it looks like they hire high school kids to work here. We tried the popular banana pudding ice cream and it was Awesome. The bear claw, chocolate chip and chocolate oreo were all amazing. One thing is for sure. A single scoop is huge here as they are very generous with the serving size. Compared to other creamery places around the price is extremely fair and priced right. So many flavors to choose from you're bound to find your favorite flavor. Five pennies creamery can easily put 5 pounds on you if you're not careful, but the local gym is nearby to burn off all that sweet decadent guilt.
I was in the Rockville Center area for dinner when a friend and I decided to grab a treat. We Googled nearby ice cream spots and five star Five Pennies Creamery popped up. I see why this spot is a favorite! This homemade ice cream shop is in the heart of RVC and offers some tasty flavors that is sure to have you wanting more. With so much to choose from, I went with the Banana Pudding ice cream. OMG! It's scraping the bottom of the cup good! Creamy, fluffy, flavorful and not overly sweet, which I like. Try it, I promise you won't be disappointed.
Came here on a pretty chilly Friday night. Such a cute little ice cream shop. They get busy and I can see why. The service is good and the ice cream is so creamy. There were so many flavors a girl couldn't decide. Asked the server for her recommendation and she did not steer me wrong. I got a mini banana pudding flavored ice cream and it was good. Reminded me of Magnolia Bakery in the city. Note card minimum is $5
